Thoughtful gifts while on the go
When I think of buying gifts at Whole Foods, oil & vinegar sets, gift cards and wines come to mind. All great gifts under $20. However, it was on our way to visit family this year that I realized how many more gift options they do have. For the picky family members who have everything, what do you buy? To my surprise, I found a few tasty treats even my aunt could appreciate. The kind folks at Whole Foods Sherman Oaks offered a few friendly suggestions as well.
Life is like a box of chocolates: Organic and Fair trade
Theo chocolate is yummy. Nutcracker Brittle and Gingerbread Spice beats mint candy canes any day. Delicious and amazing chocolate can only be made from the highest quality cocoa beans and they use organic cocoa beans in the U.S. and promote Fair Trade practices for the people farming those beans. Plus, Whole Foods has truffles, Belgian and assorted chocolates.
If you do not know your wine, like me, take a peek at their Top 10 Wines page. Perfect stocking stuffer. Whole Foods has taken the guess-work out of which wine to buy. Their bottles have a “pairs well with” label. Easy, simple, love it! My personal suggestion, depending on what you are serving, grab some red wine and then mix up a tasty red wine sangria for your guests.
Eco-friendly toys for kids
I found a large selection bath toys that are made from durable natural rubber, no BPA, Phthalates and lead free. Made from eco-friendly materials that reduce the use of oil. Why would anyone care about this? Read more about Phthalates on the CDC website. They carry green toys by Begin Again such as bath tub balls, the number snail, tool set, yo-yo’s and puzzles. PS do not forget the Whole Foods biodegradable gift cards.
Gift sets are my guilty pleasure. It is what’s left after you are tired of nibbling on left overs. They’ve got many to choose from. For the non wine drinking, chocolate fanatics, a simple basket of crackers + cheese will please most crowds.
